The operators of Budget Petrol at Matraville have added solar power to reduce their consumption of electricity from the grid and cut their energy expenditure.
In addition to their petrol sales, Budget Petrol operate a comprehensive convenience store, mechanical workshop and car wash at the Matraville site.
The addition of this Solahart 47kW solar power system has resulted in energy savings of 40-50% for this petrol station in suburban Matraville, located south of the Sydney CBD.
In addition to reducing its carbon footprint by switching to solar, Budget Petrol Matraville is saving approximately $12,000 per year in electricity costs.
